Wood burning Stove maintenance
Wood burning stove maintenance is often overlooked but essential. Like any engineered piece of equipment, your stove will require regular maintenance – most of which you will do yourself (such as cleaning the glass, emptying the ash pan), but some aspects such as replacing fire bricks or baffle plates you may want to leave to an HETAS engineer to do.
A happy, fully maintained stove is more efficient, so best to book in a maintenance appointment during the summer – this means that your stove will be ready for the first cold evening (which catches all of us out!).
We live and breathe stoves, so your stove will be well looked after.

Wood burning stove installation
Having installed and overseen around 2000 installations, Dominic can provide a cost-efficient installation with high quality components and an immaculate finish.
Growing up in the Cotswolds surrounded by amazing buildings, he is sensitive to the feel of each house and home hence ensuring that your new wood burning stove fits in well.
Sweeping
Chimney fires can only happen when there is something in the chimney or liner which could catch fire. This is why HETAS recommends to have your stove / chimney swept at least once a year.
HETAS’ official “Guide to Operating and Maintaining Your Stove” states the best time to have your chimney swept is just before the start of the heating season.
This is also a good time for us to assess your stove and advise you on whether it needs any new parts or perhaps just something simple like a new stove rope.
